The big outdoor features at Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club haven't changed. The lake, the beach and the Arthur Hills course are where they always were. The new additions for the 2026–27 season are indoors. The Beach Clubhouse is getting a room for card tournaments, movie nights and a golf simulator. Nearby at Miromar Outlets, the biggest additions over the past year have been an art gallery that teaches classes and an osteria that just reopened after a renovation. On the FGCU campus, a fall arts and athletics calendar fills almost every weekend from now through December, and much of it is free.
Taken together, these changes mean much of this season will run on a calendar. The new spaces are built for seated, scheduled gatherings, and that makes the dates below worth knowing.
The Social Lounge Gives the Beach Clubhouse a Room for Games, Films and Golf
Miromar Lakes has announced The Social Lounge, a multi-use space inside the Beach Clubhouse that is due in late fall 2026. The plans cover a screening setup for movies, a venue for community-wide sporting events and a layout that seats up to 48 players for Mahjong, Bridge, Canasta, board games and social tournaments. The Beach Club's educational programs and cultural events will use the room as well. A dedicated self-service bar lets hosts keep drinks cold and within reach while a tournament or movie night is underway.
A Golf Simulator Suite sits next door, with a large projection screen, a hitting area and seating. The club says it will let residents play and practice on world-renowned courses regardless of weather, and it will also offer swing analysis, instructional programs and friendly competition. The club's own announcement describes the simulator as a pairing with the Arthur Hills Signature Championship Golf Course and Putt-Putt at the Racquet Club.
The timing fits the start of the season. The community's Autumn 2026 newsletter announces the return of the 2026–27 Social Season, a year-round program of dinners, wine tastings, tournaments and casual gatherings, and lists an October through December calendar on pages 7 through 9. A 48-seat card room and a simulator that doesn't depend on weather give that program a permanent indoor home for the first time.
Miromar Outlets Has Spent the Year Adding Places to Stay Awhile
The outlet center has been changing in the same direction, and the store-by-store list shows how. Over the past fifteen months, Miromar Outlets added:
- Billiards & Bowling, a 28,000-square-foot entertainment venue across from Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse, which opened in July 2025, according to Engage Estero's development summary
- Merrell, in Suite 333, announced in November 2025
- Coco Art Gallery, in Suite 88, which opened in May 2026
- Perfume Outlet, carrying nearly 1,500 fragrances, which opened in July 2026
- J.Crew Factory, whose opening was announced August 27, 2026
- Da Michela Osteria Italiana, which reopened in a renovated space with a new menu, announced October 6, 2026
Two of these are retail stores. The gallery, the bowling venue and the restaurant are places you sit down in for an hour or more, and the gallery's arrival came with an explicit statement of intent.
A Cooperative Gallery With a Teaching Program
Coco Art Gallery is a cooperative gallery of the Art Council of Southwest Florida that moved into the outlet center this spring. It runs rotating exhibitions, live art and interactive programming, and its lineup includes Emerging Artist Exhibitions, Master Artist Showcases, Juried and Thematic Exhibitions and Interdisciplinary Art Instruction. In the center's announcement, Miromar Outlets Vice President Jeff Staner put it this way:
"Their presence adds a meaningful cultural element that complements our diverse mix of brands and experiences, while offering guests something unexpected and inspiring centered around the incredible artists of Southwest Florida."
The gallery is in Suite 88, near Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop and Columbia Sportswear Company. The gallery's phone number is 239-949-3073.
Da Michela's Second Chapter
The restaurant around the corner from the gallery is the newest change of all. Michela and Stefano grew up in the Veneto region of northern Italy and have spent more than 30 years in hospitality, in coffee shops, wine bars, cocktail bars and restaurants. They moved to America at 50 and opened Da Michela Osteria Italiana in Estero. The renovated room has a refreshed menu that includes Grandma's Meatballs della Nonna with whipped Italian ricotta, Rigatoni alla Carbonara with guanciale and Pecorino Romano, Lobster Ravioli with vodka sauce, Fettuccine al Tartufo with truffle carpaccio and Spaghetti Pistachio Pesto with stracciatella, along with a list of Italian wines. It sits between H&M and New Balance.
FGCU Supplies the Calendar
The club and the outlet center now have more rooms for gathering. Florida Gulf Coast University has the season's densest public program. The Bower School of Music & the Arts and the university's galleries have posted a fall schedule that runs almost without a break from this week into December, and many of the events cost nothing.

A few details on the concert listings are useful to know before you go. CABARET opens the season in collaboration with TheatreZone, which brings in professional Actors' Equity performers alongside students, and tickets are sold only through TheatreZone. The free concerts still accept reservations at fgcu.edu/concerts. The November 1 recital is the debut of Nash Ryder, newly appointed to the FGCU faculty and a graduate of Juilliard and Eastman, performing with Michael Baron, the Myra and Van Williams Distinguished Professor of Music. On October 24, an alumni panel marks 20 years of the Bower School of Music.
The galleries are open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. They are free, and visitor parking is in Parking Garage 2. Reflections in Clay, with ceramic work by alumni Jordan Blankenship, Kel Campbell and Maria Emilia Steiner, runs in Wasmer Art Gallery through November 5. Road Trip: It's the Journal, Not the Destination, a colored pencil and poetry collaboration between Donne Hutcheson and Monica Sloan, runs in Gallery 101 through October 30. By Feel: Artworks from Drawing Workshop follows in Gallery 101 from November 12 through January 21, 2027. Peter Massing and Selections from the Permanent Collection stays on the third floor of the Wilson G. Bradshaw Library through December 4.
November 6 and 7 Bring the Busiest Stretch
The first weekend of November has the most going on at once. FGCU men's basketball opens its Alico Arena home schedule on Friday, November 6, against New College of Florida, with a 7 p.m. tip. Saturday, November 7 has three events:
- 9 a.m. The Breakthrough T1D Walk Southwest Florida steps off at Miromar Outlets. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m.
- 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. FGCU holds its first Battle of the Arts in the Arts Complex Courtyard, with results and a celebration at 6:30 p.m.
- 2 p.m. FGCU women's basketball hosts Arkansas State in its Alico Arena home opener, billed as "Hometown Home Opener | Camp Reunion Day."
The men's December home stand fills the rest of the calendar until the new year: Alcorn State on December 13, Tarleton State on December 19, Abilene Christian on December 21 and Florida Tech on December 28. Some of those dates fall when visiting family is likely to be in town.
One Gap in the Calendar
Miromar Outlets' online calendar for October 2026 had no event titles when this was written. Holiday programming may still be added, and the T1D walk is the only fall event at the center confirmed so far. The club's own October through December listings are in the Autumn newsletter, and the Social Lounge's exact opening date is still listed only as late fall. That leaves the university's posted schedule as the most detailed calendar near the community this season. A 48-seat card room, a cooperative gallery with a teaching program and a renovated osteria all have rooms ready for gatherings, and the dates above are when they line up.
